HISTORY OF

DURANGO PUBLISHING CORP.® is involved in initiating and creating editorial and development projects (since 1979) and is active in the international publishing field (since 1983). As the Canadian branch of a long-established U.S. publishing and distribution company, Durango specialized in researching, writing, and packaging investment books, special reports, and booklets. These included subjects ranging from traditional stock and bond investing procedures to betting and winning at activities like thoroughbred racing and casino gaming.

Up to this point Durango's publishing was focused on commercial projects. But when the father and son team of John & Michael Haskett wrote the novel, "The Day B.C. Quit Canada", Durango added a "Custom Publishing" division in 2002. This first highly controversial novel was a commercial success and received wide media coverage from large daily newspapers as well as interviews on top radio shows from Victoria to Halifax.
 

With the rapidly changing publishing technology, and the steady improvement in digital printing, Durango was now able to produce custom books in smaller quantities at a very attractive price.

As a result of the publicity received from The Day B.C. Quit Canada and subsequent books, numerous requests to publish personal material for families and individuals started to pour in. Durango Publishing always had a strong sense of community involvement and support, and wanted to devote more attention to the community and its members.

With this in mind Durango expanded its custom publishing division to offer services that deal specifically with personal and individual clients. Durango helps preserve family and individual life stories and turn these memories into professionally designed books that create an enduring family legacy.
